Burrow is now considering manuscripts to fill out our 2018, 2019 and beyond catalogs. We will close submissions on April 1, 2017. We hope to have made decisions / sent replies by the end of July 2017. We cannot provide feedback for declined submissions.
Please only submit 1 manuscript total (if you have multiple manuscripts in various genres, pick the one you think is most suitable to Burrow).
Simultaneous submissions are perfectly fine.
We're looking for novels, novellas, in-betweeners, story collections, essay collections, and memoirs.
Special consideration will be given to underrepresented Florida authors and/or books that tackle Florida themes and places in a literary light. Despite our broad "literary" preference, we welcome experimental styles and, if you take a look at our current catalog, you'll notice our penchant for the weird (magic realism, absurdism, dark humor, etc).
Compensation varies from project to project. Typically we offer no advance, but a larger split of net royalties that increases as net sales increase. Our first print runs also vary depending on the project, but average between 500 and 1,000. Burrow book projects will also be made available in e-book form with a 50/50 profit split. Authors keep film and subsidiary rights, as well as the copyright. If you have further questions you'd like addressed before submitting, send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
