BP REVIEW SUBMISSIONS OPEN NOW THROUGH APRIL 30 ON THE THEME OF "VALLEY."
BP BOOKS (PRINT): We publish only a few books in print each year, and so it is rare that we open submissions for our print program. However, we often reach out to those who have published in our online journal in the past (see below).
BP REVIEW (ONLINE JOURNAL): We will be open for 3 separate themes in 2025. Accepted work will be published in 2026. We will publish only one new piece per month based on these 3 themes, so competition will be tough. We expect to make difficult decisions and have to turn down excellent work.
Writing on the theme of "Valley"
Edited by Bre'Anna Bivens
Valley... of dry bones, of water; often -- a meeting place. Where/what are you just meeting? What is this exchange like? What do you share? What is the slick that divided you from them/it?
Seeking fiction or nonfiction prose up to 10,000 words. Hybrid, text-image, multimedia, experimental forms welcome.
Note: we are considering work to be published in 2026. We will publish only one new piece per month based on 3 different themes, so competition will be tough. We expect to make difficult decisions and have to turn down excellent work.
- Simultaneous submissions okay
- Note: current Stetson University students are not eligible to submit
- Burrow asks for first serial rights. Rights revert to author upon publication
- $100 stipend paid for accepted work
- Crediting Burrow: we ask that any work that first appeared in BP Review be credited in any future publication.
